Visualizing the image before exposure then looking at all parts of the image (background, foreground, subject) to make sure you only have good stuff in the frame brings your images to the next level.

This is my favorite tripod! As I get older I definitely want things to weigh less and this new 3 Legged Thing tripod fits that bill perfectly. Its plenty tall, plenty short, plenty light & plenty sturdy. You can pick one up from the 3 Legged Thing website. Check out the video!
Update: Jack tripod holds 17 pounds...plenty for a pro body & 300 2.8.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=65lD_-hXD_gPrevisualization or visualization is the ability to see the photograph in your mind's eye before you take it. You need to know what you want to create before you pick your location, subject, equipment & exposure. After time and plenty of studying you will start with the ability to see light and images in your head without working at it. Once you can do it your photograph will be taken to a whole new level.
Why You Need Perfect Exposure in Digital Photography

Underexposure is THE ENEMY of digital photographs! In this video I show you how underexposure can ruin a photo, losing color & adding tons of noise to a photograph. When you underexpose you dramatically lower the dynamic range of the captured image. Your camera might have 10 or 12 stops of dynamic range (which you paid a lot of money for) but if you don't expose properly you are wasting those capabilities.
I've noticed over the years many people are afraid of high ISO. I show you how exposing properly with high ISO can produce better results, check out the video!
