Hello all,

I'm new to Photoshop CS6. And the photos I took this weekend I edited directly in Photoshop, instead of Lightroom. Anyway did CS6 stip my EXIF data? Just trying to figure out what did it. Here is an example.

Hi Erik,

I use CS6 for the majority of my edits (although I occasionally use LR now) and I have never had this problem. As far as I know, CS6 should automatically record and save the EXIF data when you save your image, at least that has always been the case with me.

If you are looking for it just on Flickr, you could just have EXIF data set to invisible, in which case, nobody can view it. You should be able to enable it in your settings.

Btw, Flickr must think this image of flowers is a bit provocative because I got a really odd message when I clicked on it:

"This photo falls outside your current SafeSearch filter.
You can click through to see it if you want."

and then when I did view it, I was asked if I wanted to be taken to the kittens (which was just that, a page of kittens) in case I changed my mind. :P

Hmmm. Wonder it's my Camera. It was acting weird the other day so I reset all the settings. Wonder if there is something in there.

I am almost certain that all cameras automatically save EXIF data so I don't think it would be that.

Well, now that I'm home from work, I tried taking one from that day and exporting it from light room and uploading to Flickr and the Exif is there. I wonder if it has something to do with the "Save for Web" option in Photoshop...

As far as I know the save for web option in photoshop automatically strips the EXIF data. If you want to keep the EXIF data you will need to use the “save as” option.
