Heya all,

I am looking for software to capture the screen on a mac. It would be nice if it can record the webcam also...

Do you have any tips or tricks for this software?

Have a look at Open Broadcaster Software (OBS). I have been using it on windows but its also available for mac. Best of all its free.
You can set it to record the whole screen or just individual windows on the screen so you should be able to set the webcam as a source.

I found it a little fiddly to set up to record the first time but that may just be because it was my first time using any screen capture software.

Agreed on OBS. Its great if you don't mind fiddling with settings and googling it to get the right setup. Also streams to FB Live and YouTube Live. If you want something simpler and don't mind paying for it then buy Screenflow in the Mac App Store.

I was going to say screen flow or screenium. You can also capture with quicktime movie. Snapz Pro X is also one. But don't know bout the webcam thing.
