Can you give any suggestions on low key and high key portraits ,thanks. and also setting a custom white balance...

Low key = use a high shutter speed and low aperture to kill ambient, and have the subject stand further away from light to avoid spill.

High Key = Drown the subject in light, close to a white background to bounce the light around a bit more.

Setting a custom white balance is taking a photo of a color you'd like the camera to pretend is white. You can set anything you'd like for creative purposes but if you shoot RAW there isn't much to worry about, since you can change it in post. Unless I'm specifically using it for creative purposes I just keep it on Auto.
