Photographing newborn babies..any tips? 3 years 10 months ago #3194

My sister-in-law is going to have her baby in a few weeks & I have been asked to capture those special 'newborn' moments...how can I make sure I get good photographs?..

I don't have much gear at the moment - just my Canon 7D & 50mm lens.

Thanks in advance,

Clair.

You will need to get a macro lens, something that will focus closer. A lot of my photos are closeups especially with newborns. In this series I used a 105mm lens, 60mm lens, and a flash as fill. The main light was the window light. www.flickr.com/photos/cazillo/sets/72157626775276339/

yes agree with gregory.

a fast lense with wide shutter so with a help of iso, so that you dont use flash uptill atleast 12 months. a 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.4 will be really nice for you. been there my friend
