Just wanted to share a photo as a topic starter, taken during one of our football games in Oct. 2011.

Nikon D3S, Nikkor 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR
1/2500s f/4.0 at 140.0mm iso500

Nice job. Photos like that take timing (or a high FPS!).

As a matter of fact, as the action developed, I took a couple of short burst to capture the action.

Nice photo. Those are some nice hot pink socks. My eye is drawn to them.

Nice shot, I have been shooting football for a couple years and getting the timing down is always the trickiest part. Everything is nice and crisp while the background is pretty well blown out. Well done.
