TOPIC: Continuous release using pop-up commander

Continuous release using pop-up commander 4 years 2 months ago #2365

I’m fairly new in the world of photography, so was wondering if it were possible to take continuous multiple shots with a remote flash firing while using the pop-up flash as the commander? I have a D800 with the SB-910 and it seems the camera is limited to only firing once even when my dial is set to CL or CH mode.

Also, I tried it using the Self-Timer mode with 2-5 shots set and it still fires only once. Is it because the pop-up flash is limited by its power source? When setting the flash on top of the camera’s shoe, it easily performs and can fire away multiple shots.

Hi Rhodel,

Welcome to the forums,

well.. i really can't help you with the D800, i have never touched that system so i cannot answer your question. And as far as i know, nobody on this forum has that lens yet.

Do you tried to find this information in the manual of the camera?

Greetings,
Roy

SB-910 isn't a lens so I don't think anybody will ever have that...

Actually, SB-910 is Nikon's latest speedlight (flash).

Sorry Rhodel,

I ment body. And about the flash, i am a Canon shooter so i cannot help you.

Almost all speedlights will work using cls, it is how your camera works with it.

Good luck with it.

Greetings,
Roy

You are limited to the body's flash speed. If you need more FPS with flash then you will need another strobe and possibly an external battery.
