Hi there!

Flash will freeze the image and will light your subject. So when you are inside a house, firing non flash, you need to go up to ISO 800, F/2.8 or F/4.0 and a shutter speed around 1/60th to get your subject exposed (depends on what type of light you have in house. In a dark room, the above settings will not work..)

While with flash, you can drop your ISO to 400 or 200 and shutter speeds of 1/100th and get your subject exposed.

But! If you do that as i said above, it is possible that you will expose you subject, but everything behind the subject will be black..

You have to expirment with the settings. Trail and error. I find flash one of the most difficult things to learn. But if you have it... you bring your photography skills to a higher level!

Greetings,
Roy
