TOPIC: Press Credentials?

Press Credentials? 4 years 5 months ago #1577

Hi. I was wanting to do some freelance photo journalism, and was wondering how to get press credentials and a press pass? I've seen organizations offering these as part of the membership, but I want to make sure they are legit before purchasing anything. I checked with my local newspaper, but they were no help at all. Anyone have any experience with this topic? Thanks.

Wondering that myself too Grease Man.

Even though. I think the way to get into press photography is to start yourself first. Check out the police scanner or even scout in front of the firestation and follow them (Safety First!!).

Take shots, post them as quickly on your website and as soon as you got some nice and quality shots, you can contact the firestation or a press center/news paper/news website to ask for Press Credentials. After that you can eventually grow to press photographer for tabbloits and celeb papers..

Well, thats how i would do it.. :)

Greetings,
Roy
