Well.. Nice shots Brent!! Definatly some nice shots.

ove to see you are thinking different. Shooting fire is a challenge because of the heat and the light. if you focus en meter on the fire, the rest of the image will be black and you managed that pretty well.

Some compositions are discussable. But overall like the shots!

Thanks Roy and jerry. I think if you know to throw it into manual and shoot to over expose by a stop ish, you can capture the entire dynamic range ish. Also a shutter speed from 1/8 to 1/25 seems to treat fire nicely.

I think the scariest thing is that the fire was spitting sparks, and I didnt have a lens protector on my 70-200, and I was about 1-2m away. The fire gods spared my lens that day.

probably should find that thing. I hate lens protectors so much but the one time i need it, its stuffed in my closet.
