Master of all Cazillions, I beseech thee for thy guidance!! I am shooting High School and College Football. I currently have a Tamron 70-200 2.8 lens, its a good lens but hunts and comes out a bit soft at times.

I want to a) upgrade to Nikon glass and b) get to 300mm with glass. Which of these would you reccomend- Nikon 300mm f/4 ED-IF AF-S prime or Nikon 70-200 2.8 Edif Afs-g Vr Lens (with a 1.4 TC added)? Goals being more focal length, better sharpness and better focus. Thanks Greg, Greg

I would probably recommend the 70-200. The 300 would be nice to have, but you need to have a 70 first.
