Would you worry about a tiny scratch on a front element? (not in middle, more to the side)

Noticed my 24-70 got one but haven't spot anything in photos yet

Most of the time you probably won't notice it. The one time it may be an issue is when shooting with lens flare as a creative part of the image. The distorted glass could make the flare look odd or give you an extra shape. Fortunately that is probably rare enough not to worry about it!

as long as its a small one you probably wont notice it, because its on the lens it should be completly out of focus in pictures, (like when you shoot through fences). try taking some practice shots at increasing apertures, this will help you see better if it'll show in your photos
