anyone have experience with this lens? saw good reviews about this lens and i think greg did one too. but i still been seeing some bad reviews too. i know the nikon AF-S 85 1.8 is coming out soon but i need a zoom. im torn between this 2 lens for now. i know some might suggest the tamron or sigma 17-50mm but its too short. that why i never used my 18-55mm because it too short. i shoot my baby(6yo) most of the time and a longer range helps in getting those candid shots.

but i love BOKEH too. i bet that 85 1.8 will produce an excellent bokeh.

hmmmm

my friend,

for the child you better go with a zoom lens. those kids they dont stop even for a moment. me when I am shooting mine I use 24-70 mostly.

so fixed lens like 85 (I own the 1.4 g) is little difficult to follow kids. thats why I am always going to 24-70 or 70-200.

another suggestion since you are a macro guy, why dont you go for a 105 macro so you can shoot both with one.

i wish i can my friend. but budget is only at $500 range. and im still saving for that one. or a birthday gift if im lucky :)

that is why i always carry my 55-200 when we go to the park.

i only have my 35 1.8 which i love but too limited when it comes to portrait(love head shots). my 18-55 for macro then my 55-200.

i used the 35 1.8 and the 55-200 in shooting my friends daughters birthday party. pls tell me what you think. here is the link of the set:

I used to have the tamron while shooting with my old D200. Great lens, loved it for the good iq for the price. Don´t used it on FX yet.

my friend I just checked them.

Really nice. sharpness is crisp and clear. did you increase sharpness in post develop in lightroom ? Especially the skin tones are near perfect. what white balance did you use.a custom one or ready one.

I dont know which of these taken with 55-200 but all are really nice work my friend.

so thats for me tonight, its nearly 1am here. time to go bed. to be continued my friend
