Hello everyone,

I have some pictures I would like to be kindly critiqued.
These pictures were taken with my Canon Rebel T3i and my EFS 55-250mm lens.
I'll post the info below each picture.

All pictures were taken manually

ISO 200
131mm
f/5
1/640

ISO 400
74mm
f/4.5
1/2500

ISO 400
84mm
f/4.5
1/2500

ISO 200
208mm
f/5.6
1/400

If you would like to critique more I have a lot more to post. For the record I mainly just do horses, I have some of my dog but that is pretty much it. (:

Thanks!

Hmm...

I can't upload the pictures for some reason. I'll try to get on it later.

Two options, you can use the "add file" button via attachments when you hit the "reply" button or (which is perhaps more favourable), if you have Flickr, you can use the "share" button which will allow us to see them too. Look forward to seeing them. ;)

Hi there Mary!

Welcome to the forums!! Hope you will like it in here!

The images are looking nice and solid. Even though, its not my part of photography, i will critique it ;)

Image 1. Nice image. I would liked to see some more contrast to make the blacks more black.

The second image, also, pump up the contrast a little. And i think it needs a little more exposure. I would also watch the composition with the blanket which the horse is wearing. If you had the whole opening in the image, it would be a lot stronger in my opinion.

Thirth image. Love the colors, really. But you have cut off the ears a little which is a little bit distracting for me. I love the fact the horse is on the right, but the head is coming to the middle. Nice.

Fourth image. Good. Nice. Wondering what the horse is thinking.

Greetings,
Roy

I agree, I like 1 & 2, but with more contrast - love 3 and 4. Welcome!

hi mary, ist impression, i like your pics. because you asked(and i would want want an honest critique too)..no.1iwould like to see his face lit a little more(low power flash?) and not sure about the light that almost looks like a half moon around his head (in background) almost looks like vingette effect. no.2 be aware of background... picture this with white background, i think it would be stunning. agree with other about cutting off blanket. no.3 absolutlely best pic(except for ears). no 4 i guess that is snow on top of post but i think it breaks up the natural neckline and takes away from photo. just little things to be aware of.
