This is more of an FYI. My wife owns a hair salon and we are in the process of updating the website for the business. This is going to include some shots of all the stylists. I setup a studio in our family room, white back drop (going for hikey)...one key soft box on fill...I hit the background just under two stops brighter than where I had subjects standing....now...the screw ups...1.) While I was making some exposure adjustments I inadvertantly changed my capture settings from raw to basic jpg! 2.) The first three subjects looked great...HOWEVER, I somehow inadevertantly changed the shutter speed at the start of subject 4 to 320 which was above the sync speed of my D7000. As I took the next 6 or 7 shots I was relying on my LCD to check focus etc. but did not notice the SS change and the dreaded 'black bar' is noticible at bottom of frame in those images. Now, mind you, there were 14 models and I was hurried getting back to my house from my son's baseball game. Errrr.

Maybe just a little nervous?
I used to record singer songwriter types back in the early 90's. In my "basement" studio. The first few clients through the door were really nerve raking, these guys were paying me to produce, you'll calm down and it'll go much smoother.
Not sure about the D7000 but Why would you focus through the LCD?
I'll bet the model would be willing to do a re-take if you asked.

Hi Dwayne,

Thanks for the response. I wasn't focusing using LCD, just checking image after shot. I didn't notice the bottom of the image on LCD started showing black bar after I had inadvertantly changed the SS to 320.
