I've wanted to do some self portraits for a while but didnt want to do a typical head shot. I got bored last night and busted out the camera. Here is my product of boredom.Even though I was using the wireless app on my phone, I found it very difficult to frame the image and get my focus where I wanted. Im open to your feedback, both good and bad. These are some of my favorites.

I like these, very dramatic lighting and nice punch crisp contrast

picture number 2; however, I do not like the shallow depth of field for this image. I feel the jeans should be tack sharp like the first image. My attention is not drawn straight away to the in focus hand, so my brain is greeted by blurriness as a subject.

Thanks Brent. I wanted the focus to be on the hand but I see you what you mean. I really like the first image so I'll try to keep in that mind next time around.

Thanks Jose. To be honest, its a cheap $5 light set up. Clamp light, low wattage bulb (14 watt with a 60 watt equivalent), and a shower cap to diffuse the light. Overall I think it worked for what I wanted to accomplish.

Great work! Very intresting prop....I wouldn't have thought of it. But, it works fantastic with the lighting!
